Volunteer Sports Assistants

Berkshire Vision

We have a busy activities programme designed to encourage and empower visually impaired people in Berkshire and we need volunteers to help with all of our sports and activities. You can either focus of the sport that interests you or volunteer across several activities. We are looking for volunteers to assist with: Tandem Cycling, Rock Climbing, Golf, Running, Dragon boating, Swimming, Tennis and more. We run both adults' and childrens' activities.

Who would be supporting me?

Our Activities Manager will be your primary contact and support. The Head of Volunteering and the Volunteer Officer will be supporting you with training and with any additional needs. You will receive a handbook and training. 

About Berkshire Vision

Berkshire Vision provide practical and friendly support, sport and activities to visually impaired children and adults, and their families locally and across Berkshire. Helping them to develop confidence and live independent lives safely. We are always keen to welcome new volunteers to join our wonderful team.

What skills do I need?

Friendly, good listener, good empathy, patience, sense of humour, good team player. Volunteers do not need experience of sight loss as training is given. A DBS check is required for this role.

When is this role available?

This is a flexible role available on various days/times.

Details

Time commitment varies and is very flexible. We have sports and activities happening all the time, including at weekends. As a Sports volunteer you would be sent our activities calendar each month then you decide which activities you would like to support. Join in when you can, you just need to let us know the month before.
