Volunteer Social Activities Assistant

Berkshire Vision

We have a busy activities programme designed to encourage and empower visually impaired people in Berkshire. Our social activities include museum visits and theatre trips with touch tours and audio-description, to walks, boat trips and lunches. We are looking for volunteers to attend, support and guide our members and to join in the fun. As an Activities volunteer you would be sent our activities calendar each month then you decide which activities you would like to support. Join in when you can, you just need to let us know the month before.

Who would be supporting me?

Our Activities Manager will be your main point of contact. The Head of Volunteering and the Volunteer Officer will be supporting you. You will receive a handbook and training.

About Berkshire Vision

Berkshire Vision provide practical and friendly support, sport and activities to visually impaired children and adults, and their families locally and across Berkshire. Helping them to develop confidence and live independent lives safely. We are always keen to welcome new volunteers to join our wonderful team.

What skills do I need?

Friendly, good listener, good empathy, patience, sense of humour, good team player. Volunteers do not need experience of sight loss as training is given. A DBS check is required for this role. 

When is this role available?

This is a flexible role available on various days/times.
