As a Volunteer Fundraiser, you'll be helping to make great things happen - from exciting campaigns to amazing community events. You'll volunteer alongside a dynamic team, contribute to our success, and gain valuable skills along the way. Plus, you'll meet some incredible people while making a real impact.

What will you be doing?

Campaign Superstar

  • Help plan and launch fun, impactful fundraising campaigns (both online and offline)!
  • Spread the word on social media, email, and by chatting with friends and family.
  • Encourage everyone to get involved - together we can make a difference!

Event Extraordinaire

  • Assist in organising awesome events like coffee mornings and community gatherings.
  • Help with all the behind-the-scenes magic (setting up, registrations, guest welcoming).
  • Coordinate volunteer teams to make sure events run like a dream!

Donor Champion

  • Be an ambassador for VCWB and build relationships with donors.
  • Help us find new sponsors and donors to keep the momentum going.

Promo Pro

  • Help create buzz for fundraising campaigns through creative content and event promotions!
  • Help us connect with local businesses for sponsorships and partnerships.
  • Get involved with creating marketing materials

Admin Hero

  • Attend local fundraising events and network with like-minded people.
  • Help track donations and keep our fundraising records in tip-top shape.
  • Assist with preparing thank-you letters, reports, and giving feedback to improve our efforts.

About Volunteer Centre West Berkshire

Volunteer Centre West Berkshire is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, formed in 1974. Our well respected charity reached its 50th anniversary in 2024. The organisation's overriding ethos is to match local people to local need. We provide information, advice and guidance and personally match people to one of more than 300 volunteering opportunities in West Berkshire.

We also provide help and information to charitable organisations in West Berkshire, whether helping start a new charity or providing assistance with fundraising, training and governance. As well as run local schemes providing help for socially isolated and the elderly.

Our aims
- To promote volunteering opportunities to all members of the West Berkshire community irrespective of their age, gender, ethnicity, ability, race, sexuality or means.
- To work in partnership and harmony with any voluntary, charitable, community, statutory or business group for the benefit of West Berkshire people and the West Berkshire environment.
- To advocate the rights and responsibilities of volunteers.
- To accurately match the time and skills of people to the most appropriate opportunity for them.
- To continue to provide a Handybus, Shopmobility and Community Car service or other such services for people with mobility difficulties to residents of and visitors to Newbury.
- To continue to provide opportunities for the personal and professional development of staff and volunteers.

What skills do I need?

  • Excitement for VCWB's mission and making a difference
  • Great communication skills (you love talking to people - in person and online)
  • An enthusiasm to work with a team and have fun while doing it
  • Previous experience of event planning, marketing or fundraising is preferred
  • A flexible schedule and a commitment of around 5-10 hours per month (including a regular fundraising meeting)

We are looking to build up a team of volunteers with individual skills. You don't necessarily need to be able to do everything here; we will tailor the role to your strengths and interests.

This is a flexible role available on various days/times.

A flexible schedule and a commitment of around 5-10 hours per month (including a regular fundraising meeting). Be available for some weekend events.
