County Trustees - Berkshire Scouts

Berkshire Scouts

Berkshire Scouts supports around 4,000 adults and 10,000 young people across Berkshire in Scouting through over 100 groups. Ensuring that we have the resources, processes and policies in place, to support the groups to run exciting and challenging programmes is no mean feat and our County Trustee Board is a key component in this.

With our AGM approaching, we are welcoming nominations to the trustee board and are looking for volunteers who can bring an objective and independent eye to the work of our Trustees. If you are interested in governance and process and comfortable with providing constructive challenge then this could be the role for you. You will work as part of our team helping to ensure that Scouts is run safely and legally.

Trustees have the satisfaction of being part of a shared endeavour in your community, supporting those who deliver Scouts throughout Berkshire and helping to ensure our charity is well run and risks are properly managed.

The Trustee Board meets six times per year, all but one of the meetings are held on line so most of this role can be completed from home.

About Berkshire Scouts

Berkshire Scouts supports Scouting in more than 100 communities across Berkshire, providing fun, challenge and adventure for more than 10,000 young people aged 6 to 25.

Beavers - age 6-8yrs
Cubs - age 8-10yrs
Scouts - age 10-14yrs

We have a number of groups in and around Newbury that are always ready to welcome new volunteers. From zorbing to cooking, coding to camping, every week is different and our aim is to build resilience, a sense of adventure and leadership skills in the young people we support.
