Do you have administrative experience at any level or want to gain some?
We are looking for a passionate and organised individual to join as a Volunteer Unit Assistant supporting our Officer in Charge for a couple of hours one night a week or month.
In this position, you'll play a crucial role in the smooth running of our unit.
Working closely with the Officer in Charge, your responsibilities will include:

The aim of Sea Cadets is to give young people aged 10 to 18 the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun, based on the customs and traditions of the Royal Navy.
Our volunteers work, both directly with young people and behind the scenes, to help make a positive difference to teenagers who are often struggling in today’s world and their communities.
Our immediate outcomes for young people within the Sea Cadets include improved life skills such as leadership, communication and citizenship, we also offer internally and externally accredited qualifications. Our long-term benefits for young people are far reaching - attendance and engagement in school, improved post 16 destinations, long-term wellbeing, reduced risky behaviour and increased participation in communities.
Newbury Sea Cadets is a long-established unit and we are looking to increase our volunteer numbers so that we can continue to have a positive impact on the young people within our community.
Administrative skills would be desirable in this role however there are no specific educational, skills or experience requirements to join our team; having the right attitude and a passion for improving the lives of young people are the most important things! This is an ongoing role and we would ideally like someone who can commit to a couple of hours one night per week or month (Mondays and/or Wednesdays 7-9pm) or more frequently if you are able to commit more time.
