Radio Presenters

Kennet Radio

If you’d like to have a go at presenting a programme for Kennet Radio, please get in touch, they are looking for local people with personality and something to say, people who know the area and know what matters to local residents.

Don’t worry if you’re unsure about the technical side of things, they can show you what buttons to press, or even get someone to press the buttons for you. Inevitably music is the lion’s share of their output, but they are not just another music station.

Kennet Radio have a strong local focus and they have programmes covering topics as diverse as eating out locally and the latest technology so whatever you ideas, they’d like to hear them. Local current affairs, local history, local sport, the best local pubs just a few ideas that might get you thinking.

They expect their presenters to get involved with all aspects of the station’s output from time to time, including supporting our Outside Broadcast and Events team, the Kennet Krew, at events and functions around the area.

We are based in Broadway House, which is located at the northern end of Northbrook Street near the Clock Tower, opposite Domino’s Pizza.

About Kennet Radio

We are Kennet Community Radio, the Local Sound of Newbury and Thatcham. We broadcast to a potential 67,000 listeners across the Newbury and Thatcham area on 106.7 FM, via our smartphone app, and via our website, from our studios in the centre of Newbury.

Formed in October 2012 as a not-for-profit voluntary organisation following a fantastic response to our initial public meeting in September, we have been broadcasting online since October 2012 and on FM since March 2018.
