Lambourn Lunch Club Volunteers

The cost of living crisis is impacting many people who are having to make difficult decisions between food or fuel. Lambourn is a rural community built up around the racehorse training industry with limited public transport to the nearest town which is 9 miles away.

The Lambourn Lunch Club provides a safe, warm place to meet and have a free meal for those who are impacted by the cost of living and rural isolation. We carefully analysed the benefits to the community before starting the Lambourn lunch club and the feedback to date has been very positive indeed.

No pressure, no judgement just good company and a delicious hot meal followed by tea and coffee.

Come and help us on a Thursday between 11:30 and 1pm to set up the hall and then to serve lunch to our lunch club participants. No experience required. Food handling training given.

About Lambourn Junction Community Interest Company

The Lambourn Junction Community Interest Company was set up in April 2021 as a not-for-profit company to encourage, enable and operate community activities in Lambourn and the surrounding area. The name and logo of the company is based on the Lambourn Railway line which connected the community, brought employment and prosperity and was an essential part of Lambourn life.

What skills do I need?

No previous training assumed. We would really appreciate volunteers who are willing to pitch in and help set up the room and serve lunches. If you enjoy meeting people and like to make people feel welcome then you are a perfect fit.
