The Lambourn Junction Food Bank is a community led initiative to support those in need with food and essential supplies. It is supported by the community with volunteers and donations, as a drop-in, needs led food hub, offering food, household items and toiletries.

The Food Bank is operated by The Lambourn Junction Community Interest Company, a not-for-profit community initiative. Food poverty is a real issue and is particularly evident in rural environments. The Lambourn Junction Food Bank has a team of volunteers who ensure the distribution of the groceries to those most in need.

We do not means test, we do not judge, we simply distribute food and toiletries to those who need a helping hand.

About Lambourn Junction Community Interest Company

The Lambourn Junction Community Interest Company was set up in April 2021 as a not-for-profit company to encourage, enable and operate community activities in Lambourn and the surrounding area. The name and logo of the company is based on the Lambourn Railway line which connected the community, brought employment and prosperity and was an essential part of Lambourn life.

What skills do I need?

No previous training assumed. If you enjoy meeting people and like to make people feel welcome then you are a perfect fit. The work involves handing groceries to individuals attending. An experienced member of the team will be with you at all times.

Details

Time commitment: About 2 hours a week depending on how many sessions you would like to attend. We are looking for volunteers who can assist handing out groceries when we are open: Monday 11:00 - 13:00, Wednesday 11:00 - 13:00, Saturday 11:00 - 13:00.
