Fundraising Group Members

This role can be as exciting as you want to make it!

Primarily you will be assisting the local fundraising team in promoting and taking part in a variety of activities to raise money for Guide Dogs.

If you are particularly enthusiastic and want to organise your own 'stand alone' or 'challenge' events to raise money, we are happy to help support this.

What does the role involve?

• You will have the chance to take part in some or all of the following:
• Street collections on 'flag' days - holding a money bucket and talking to the public
• Help on information and merchandise stalls at local events such as fetes
• Take collection boxes or envelopes to local businesses
• Opportunity to organise your own one-off challenge events to promote Guide Dogs and raise funds

Volunteering will take place in Newbury, Hungerford, Thatcham, and surroundings.

We're also the largest employer of specialists dedicated to helping children and young people overcome the challenges of sight loss.

What skills do I need?

What skills or experience are required?

• Enthusiasm and the desire to have fun!
• Good communication skills - ability to put your thoughts across clearly and politely to others
• Working as part of a varied team - willing to meet new people
• Preferably be willing to talk to the public about the work of Guide Dogs
• Any previous experience of fundraising or new ideas are always welcome

This is a flexible role available on various days/times.

Details

Time commitment is flexible - Fundraising groups organise events through out the year. This could be approximately 1 hour per month or 10 hours per month depending on how involved you want to become!
