Fundraising Group Coordinator

Could you help inspire and motivate a team of volunteer fundraisers in your local area? As Fundraiser Group Coordinator for Guide Dogs, you can use your skills to make a huge difference to people's lives. In return, you'll gain experiences, memories and friendships that last a lifetime.

You can make the Fundraising Group Coordinator role your own. You can take on as much or little as works for you, or you can share the role with other volunteers in the team. You'll also have the full support of your Guide Dogs volunteer manager.

You can help by:

• Using your fantastic people skills to bring the team together and offering support and encouragement to other volunteers.
• Bringing fresh energy and enthusiasm to help the team develop new ideas and activities that will raise funds for Guide Dogs.
• Putting your excellent organisation skills to good use by managing the team's calendar and making sure the events are supported.
• Using your local networks and connections to work with businesses, shops, schools, libraries and groups in your area to host events.
• Being an ambassador for Guide Dogs by sharing stories and information about the impact of our services.

You'll mainly be performing this volunteer role at home and in the community. Some local travel will be required, and we will reimburse reasonable travel expenses.

About Guide Dogs

Guide Dogs for the Blind help people with sight loss live the life they choose.

Over the years we've developed a wide range of services with and without dogs to support people living with a vision impairment. Children and adults. Friends and family.

We're a charity, almost entirely funded by donations, and we are the world's largest assistance dog organisation. As world leaders in puppy socialisation and dog training, we're the only organisation to breed and train guide dogs in the UK. We're also the largest employer of specialists dedicated to helping children and young people overcome the challenges of sight loss.

What skills do I need?

To succeed in this role, you will:

• Need to be 18 years old or over.
• Be able to generate enthusiasm and motivate people.
• Have good communication and networking skills.
• Have a passion for organising events

When is this role available?

This is a flexible role available on various days/times.

Details

Time commitment: It's likely that your volunteering will take place when you have time around your personal commitments. Most volunteers in this role normally commit around 5 to 6 hours per week and to help us and you get the most out of the role our expectation is that you'll volunteer for at least 12 months.
