Thatcham Event Ambassadors

Thatcham Town Council is once again delighted to welcome visitors back to what will be a full and exciting programme of live community events. To help us deliver these fantastic occasions, we're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team on a casual basis. Volunteering with us is a great way to gain valuable event experience, support your local community, and have fun as part of our vibrant events programme.

Our main event in 2026 will be Family Fun Day, held on the last Sunday in June. Last year we welcomed thousands of visitors to Henwick Worthy Playing Fields, where they enjoyed a wonderful variety of local community stalls, music stages, and live entertainment for the whole family. We rely on our volunteers to help set up the site, steward the car park, guide stallholders to their pitches, and provide information and assistance to visitors throughout the day.

On the last Thursday of the August summer holidays, we host KidsFest - a fun-filled themed event dedicated to children, celebrating the end of the summer break. The day features entertainment, workshops, and activities designed to inspire creativity and play.

Thatcham will also host its annual Festival in October, showcasing a packed programme of cultural, musical, and community events. Volunteers are needed to help take tickets and guide visitors to their seats throughout the festival.

Remembrance Sunday is always a significant event in Thatcham, with volunteers supporting the parade as it moves through the Broadway and into the Parade Ground.

Finally, our Christmas Lights Switch-On will once again brighten up the town on the first Friday in December - an event that grows in popularity every year.

Come and be part of the team that helps bring our community together through live events. You'll meet new, like-minded people, gain hands-on experience, and have a wonderful time supporting Thatcham's community spirit!
