Volunteer Rehabilitation Support Worker

Circles South East

If you have a passion for crime, criminal justice, rehabilitation, or supporting ex-offenders, this is the perfect opportunity for you to contribute to positive change.

We're currently searching for volunteers in your area. By becoming part of our amazing team, you will play a vital role in forming a 'Circle of Support and Accountability' around an individual who has been convicted of sexual harm. This is achieved by participating in regular Circle meetings with 3-4 other volunteers, to provide support and guidance to the Core Member.

What's in it for you?

Extensive Training: Gain valuable knowledge and skills through our 16-hour training program. We'll equip you with the tools necessary to make a real difference in people's lives.

Ongoing Support: You won't be alone on this journey. We provide continuous supervision, ensuring you feel confident and supported every step of the way.

Flexible Commitment: Volunteering typically involves one session at 2-3 hours per week, including travel. We understand that your time is valuable, and we will do our best to work with your schedule to make it convenient for you.

Fulfilment and Impact: By actively contributing to the rehabilitation and reintegration process, you'll directly reduce the impact of sexually harmful behaviours on potential victims. Your efforts will create a safer and more compassionate community.

Volunteers will be required to travel to a location that is local to their area.

About Circles South East

Circles South East, an award-winning charity, is dedicated to making a lasting impact on our society. We are on a mission to achieve 'No more victims' by supporting individuals who have committed sexual offences, helping them access their better, stronger selves, and reducing sexually harmful behaviours.

Circles South East recruits, trains and supervises volunteers to work with sexual offenders in the community, either in a group working with other volunteers as a "Circle", or on a one-to-one basis as a mentor. Our aim is to support offenders while at the same time helping them to avoid any further offending. We have a very good success rate in reducing re-offending and the method is being developed around the whole country now.

We also run a counselling service where volunteers work individually with survivors of sexual abuse and with offenders.

Time commitment: To be a volunteer, you need to be committed to a minimum of 1 year to 18 months. Volunteering is typically 2-3 hours a week (including travel). The role runs on weekdays and evenings only. We can accommodate holidays and understand that volunteers may have to move or stop working with us for personal reasons.
