Volunteer Mentor for Young People on the Edge of Care

NYAS (National Youth Advocacy Service)

We are looking for caring, reliable volunteers aged 25 years and over to support young people who are on the edge of care. These young people may be facing a range of challenges in their lives, and having a trusted, positive adult to talk to can make a real difference.

As a volunteer, you will meet with a young person twice a month for face-to-face visits, spending around 1 to 2 hours together. Visits may include having a friendly chat, building confidence, offering emotional support, and signposting them to relevant services and opportunities. They also provide young people with the chance to enjoy some positive time away from their family home in a safe and supportive environment.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference to a young person's life. If you have a few hours to spare each month and would like to help a young person build confidence, resilience, and a brighter future, we would love to hear from you.
