About Response

Response is the largest mental health charity in the Thames Valley. We support a range of needs from preventative support for children, young people and families in the community, up to supported living for adults with complex mental health needs. Each of our services is driven by our values or Caring, Aspirational, Safe and Creative.

Our model for support is different per project. In our young people services we have workers embedded within NHS CAMHS teams to deliver non-clinical support for mental health needs; in our adults services we run supported living which can range from 24/7 support for adults, to transitional services which are lighter touch interventions. We also have projects focused on reducing the chance of homelessness.

Our Thatcham Wellbeing Hub is our first place-based location for young people and is a community hub where we support those at risk of worsening mental health and wellbeing concerns and who are not getting support from other services.

What skills do I need?

We are keen to find people who have experience working with young people in whatever capacity that is. It could be youth workers, teachers etc or someone who has had their own children. We want people who understand how to engage with young people and have some understanding of safeguarding and welfare. Overall, we want people who are flexible and interested in helping young people thrive.
