Wash Common Community Association
The Association requires one or two new Trustees to take over from some of the existing Trustees. The role of the Trustees is to see the management of the Association is undertaken appropriately. Trustees are members of the Committee but their attendance at every meeting is not essential.
The meeting is every 6 weeks is at the centre. The rest you do at home.
The Wash Common Community Association is a registered charity that built and manages the community centre at Wash Common.
The Community Centre provides facilities for a preschool, local clubs and groups such Brownies and church groups. It is also available for use on an occasional basis for parties, etc.
The management of the Centre is undertaken by a small committee of volunteers that meets in an evening approximately every 6 weeks.
The income from fees for those using the Centre keeps the building in good repair and pays for heating, lighting, refuse collection, etc. The financial position of the Charity is sound. The management of the Association is over seen by the Trustees of the Charity.
Sense of humour
This is a flexible role available on various days/times.
Time commitment: Does not involve a heavy time commitment - the role involves attending some of the meetings, reading financial reports etc. We meet one Tuesday evening every six weeks or so for our regular committee meeting, for about an hour and a half.
