Transport Volunteer

Cats Protection - Berkshire Cat Centre

Without volunteers, Cats Protection Berkshire Cat Centre simply wouldn't exist. Our amazing volunteers have a shared love of cats and fit volunteering around their home lives and personal commitments. As well as meeting great people you will be helping to make an incredible difference to the cats and kittens in our care.

Our Jumble Sales, held in the heart of Thatcham town are a fantastic fundraiser for the cats and kittens.

An important part of the Jumble Sales is transporting the jumble items to the venue.  This involves collecting our Cats Protection van from the centre in Curridge village, driving to the Jumble Sale venue in central Thatcham and helping to unload.  Then driving the van back to the centre after the Jumble Sale has finished and help with unloading items.

This role is really nice as it can be simply van driving if wished but if volunteers would like to get more involved and stay and help with the Jumble Sale, though there is no expectation to do this, it would be very welcomed!

Time commitment:  6 Saturdays, per year - Remaining dates this year:  19 September and 21 November.  Approx 1.5 hours in the morning and then again at 1pm.

There may also be the potential in the future for the role to expand and for van drivers to become involved in other driving tasks.

Jumble sales are held in Thatcham.  Berkshire Cat Centre is situated in Curridge village, approximately 10 minutes by car from Thatcham and 5-10 minutes from Junction 13 of the M4.
