Stay and Play helper

This role is to help create a safe and engaging environment for children aged 0-4 years old and their parents/carers by:

• Setting up toys at the beginning of the session.
• Talking to parents - they enjoy a good chat! Sometimes we are the only other adults that they see. 
• Engaging with the babies and children - this is so rewarding and fun to do!
• Making hot drinks - Our parents/carers are always so grateful to be offered a drink as they come in. 
• Clearing up after snack
• Putting toys away
• Being a friendly face - As mentioned, sometimes we are the only adults that these parents/carers see in a day, so we want to be approachable and friendly. Parenting/caring can be hard and lonely, so we want to support them as much as we can.

Baby Song - a music group for babies for who cannot walk yet. We have bells, floaty scarves and bubbles!
Pebbles Stay and Play - A friendly group for children aged between 0 and 4 years and their parents/carers. We provide a safe environment for them to play freely, before tidying up ready for singing and a drink and biscuit.

What skills do I need?

• Interest in Salvation Army’s work
• Good listening and communication skills
• Interest in Children and their families 

We ask that you are friendly, approachable and I think to work with children, you need to have a good sense of humour!
