The Conservation Volunteers: Newbury and Thatcham Green Gym
The Green Gym gives you the opportunity to tackle small conservation tasks - developing your strength and stamina, teaching you practical skills and boosting your self confidence. It’s also a refreshing new way to improve your overall mental and emotional wellbeing, make new friends and learn new skills.
Activities take place at a variety of locations on Monday mornings - 10am - 12.30 pm.
Time commitment is flexible and volunteers may attend on a regular or occasional basis.
All tools and equipment are provided.
Further information about Green Gym can be found at www.newburyandthatchamgreengym.org.uk
Volunteering takes place at various sites, mainly in rural areas, in west Berkshire and north Hampshire. Most sites are not accessible by public transport.
The Conservation Volunteers support, encourage and celebrate volunteers and volunteering. We focus on helping people to give some of their time, skills and enthusiasm, to protect and care for their local environment - the parks, woods and other green spaces that we see and use everyday. We do this by providing individuals with the necessary knowledge, skills, opportunities and confidence to do so.
No qualifications needed. There’s always a variety of activities offering different levels of physical challenge, so you can work at your own pace and as part of the team.
