This is an exciting opportunity to join and be part of a new project. Good Hope Farm (GHF) opened its door in September 2022.

  • To be passionate about working with people with special needs and see their progress in life and independence
  • To understand specific needs of the individual and how they would fit in a work experience on the farm and within the group
  • To be able to work alongside the gardener to put together appropriate individual tasks for the day for learners to achieve their set goal for the day
  • To enjoy gardening and being outside with the learners to support their work and get to know them well and their needs 
  • Work as a team along with other staff members to run a smooth running of our services
  • To be able to work as a team member with good communication with other members for the benefits of our farm and Learners for their safety, well-being and achievements goals
  • Understanding and respect of Health and Safety requirements are essential.
  • Having mutual respect for everyone we work with, work for and support.

Directions

Our farm is located 10 minutes from Newbury town and 10 minutes from Hungerford. Please use App - What3words - packages.windpipe.traded

Soon after getting on the A4 towards Hungerford: take a turn left direction Hamstead Marshall and the Pub White Hart.

Pass the railway crossing, get over a little bridge.

At the fork, keep left towards Hamstead Marshall.

The road will wind all the way down until you find the entrance on the right-hand side at the bottom of the hill. There should be a clear sign / flag.

No car access in the field in the winter. Parking on the road is possible.

About Good Hope Farm CIC

Good Hope Farm is a community project for the benefit of adults with learning disabilities and the local community.

Good Hope Farm is being designed as a small organic farm growing vegetables, fruit, flowers, and herbs.

The farm is a day Centre offering work experience for adults with learning disabilities and difficulties, where they can learn and engage in purposeful, stimulating activity while connecting with nature and interacting with peers and the surrounding community.

We intend to offer a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for adults with special needs: building confidence, self-expression and promoting well-being through outdoor activities and a sustaining connection with the natural world.

This is an exciting opportunity to join and be part of a new project. Good Hope Farm (GHF) has opened its door this year in September 2022 and intends to open to people with learning disabilities around March.

What skills do I need?

  • It does not require any specific qualification.
  • Experience in special need or care sector is helpful but not essential.
  • Knowledge of gardening and horticulture preferable but not essential. 
  • DBS check 
  • At least two reference letters
  • Sense of humour always helps
