Nature for Health volunteer

West Berkshire Council - Nature for Health

We are looking for people to come along to our Thursday drop in sessions at Shaw House where we will be working on our community garden. We are also looking for people who are keen to help build more community gardens across West Berks.

There is free parking onsite. There is also a bus that stops just down the road.

About West Berkshire Council - Nature for Health

We are setting up a variety of projects across West Berkshire to deliver greenspace and nature activities which will promote and improve physical and mental health & wellbeing. We aim to reduce social isolation and loneliness by engaging and enabling everyone to become part of their local community.

So far we have set up a community garden at Shaw House and are working on setting up more across West Berkshire.

What skills do I need?

We welcome anyone to this project whether you are a keen gardener, a novice, or simply want to come along to chat and socialise.

Time commitment: At the moment our Shaw House community garden runs every Thursday 10:00 - 12:30. We would appreciate any help during those hours.

    Open to all - children under 16 must have a responsible adult with them.
  • Training provided
    There will be someone on site from WBC to assist with any problems or queries. Once the volunteer has settled in and become an established part of the team we can look at different training opportunities.
