Cosier Homes Events Volunteer

Centre for Sustainable Energy

The Cosier Homes Advice Service would love your help in reducing fuel poverty in West Berkshire - helping people to lower their energy bills and keep warm at home. You would be attending outreach events to give energy advice and raise awareness about the project.

You would be instrumental in helping us have a regular presence on the ground, through running drop-in sessions. The location can be based on your interest and experience, such as libraries, foodbanks or hospitals, and can be weekly, monthly, or when it suits you. You would be supported by one of our experienced Energy Caseworkers to organise the events initially, and they would also attend several sessions with you.

After a period of induction and training you would represent Cosier Homes on your own or with another volunteer. The role involves giving Energy Efficiency guidance to members of the community at events, including vulnerable people. You would use your knowledge, our guidance factsheets, or direct people to our advice line.

Location is flexible, but in the vicinity of Newbury, Hungerford and Thatcham.

About Centre for Sustainable Energy
