Link Up is a work skills project for Adults with Learning Disabilities based in The Slater Centre in Newbury. Link Up was established in 1995 and is a part of West Berkshire Mencap.
Link Up provides an exciting real working environment for up to 30 adults with learning disabilities. Their service users gain sound working practice through courses and working within a sheltered skills unit, supported by trained staff.
Link Up has the facilities and capabilities to assist you with mail shots, light assembly, packaging and shrink wrapping requirements. Link Up works mainly with Small to Medium Charities and Businesses.
Link Up is a non-profit making organisation with all money goes back into funding the project.

Volunteers are required to join their existing team, offering one to one support and guidance to their service users while they work in their workshop undertaking tasks including counting and collating mailshots.
This is an opportunity to experience the rewards of helping adults with learning disabilities to progress, gain higher self-esteem, promote a senses of worth and achievement, increase their independence and enhance their personal development. Job satisfaction and a "feelgood factor" is guaranteed.

Directions:
A339 Police Station roundabout – Bone Lane. Follow through industrial estate. Look for large West Berkshire Mencap Signs. Turn right into yard. Unit E on the right half way down. Look for Red door – door bell to right side.
From Hambridge Road:
Mini roundabout – turn into Bone lane. Turn left into yard. Signposted West Berkshire Mencap. Unit E on right half way down. Look for Red door.

We provide support to children and adults of all ages through dedicated services:
Children's Team
Support children from 0 to 25 and their families via our Little Mulberries Toddler Group, respite sessions after school, at the weekends and in the school holidays.
Family Advisors
Offer support with Advocacy, benefits, housing, education, accessing support re domestic violence, drug and alcohol struggles, family court, social services processes re Child Protection, Children in Need and Children in Care.
Adult Day Services
We have a work skills project which supports adults with gaining employment skills to enable them to move into employment.
Our Horticultural Therapy Project provides opportunities to develop horticultural skills including fabulous woodwork
Supported Living Units
We have 3x supported living units in the heart of Newbury, providing 24/7 care and support to adults with learning disabilities.
Good communication skills, patient, understanding, calm and approachable manner. Friendly and cheerful nature more important than qualifications. Willing to be DBS checked.
